This is critical if foam is inserted into cavities. Place shaped foam into wound.
The codes are further differentiated by the wound size either greater than 50 sq cm or less than or equal to 50 sq cm. Then cut a 2 cm hole in the drape over the foam apply another piece of foam l 2 cm beyond the dimensions of the t r a c pad on top of the first foam the first drape should be of larger dimension than this second foam piece to protect the skin. Give pain medication prior to removal of the foam dressing. The vac procedure vacuum assisted closure also called vacuum therapy vacuum sealing or topical negative pressure therapy is a simple technique where a piece of foam with an open cell structure is inserted into the wound and a wound drain with lateral perforations is laid atop it.
